Business Trip to Valenciennes: Which Hotel Near the Train Station?

Business trip to Valenciennes: where to stay near the train station

Whether it's a one-day assignment, a week-long work camp, or a month-long training course, the need is the same: a hotel that's easy to find, close to trains, with parking, and a place to eat without having to go out again. The Clémenceau Hotel, located at 39 rue du Rempart in Valenciennes, meets all four requirements. Here's what you need to know before booking.

Where to stay in Valenciennes for a business trip?

The Clémenceau Hotel is a 2-star hotel in the heart of Valenciennes, a 2-minute walk from the train station and 3 minutes from the Place d'Armes. It offers single and double rooms, a room for guests with reduced mobility, an apartment for longer stays, secure parking, and a bar-restaurant open until midnight.

For a business trip, the key is to arrive by train or car without wasting time, drop off your belongings, eat, sleep, and leave. The hotel is presented in detail on the presentation page, with all the included services. The hotel is also listed by the Valenciennes Tourist Office.

2 minutes from the train station: arrive without a car

Valenciennes train station is 500 meters from the hotel, a 2-minute walk. For travel from Lille or Paris, this is the easiest point: no taxi, no shuttle, you simply get off the train and walk to Rue du Rempart. According to the tourist office, Lille is 35 minutes away by TER regional train and Paris is 1 hour 50 minutes by TGV high-speed train. Schedules are available on the SNCF website for Valenciennes train station.

The city center is the same distance away in the other direction.

The Place d'Armes, shops, and restaurants in the city center are all within walking distance, eliminating the need to take a car in the evening. For those planning to explore the region, the tourism and access page provides detailed travel information: Lille is 50 km away, and Mons is less than 35 minutes away. The two nearest airports are Lille-Lesquin at 45 km and Charleroi Brussels-South at 80 km. The exact distances and directions are on the contact page.

Secure parking, rooms and apartment

By car: Secure parking for €10 per night. Parking in Valenciennes city center in the evening is the first problem when traveling by car. The hotel offers secure parking, by reservation, for €10 per night. Please request this when booking, as the number of spaces is limited. For those arriving by bicycle, a bicycle garage is available for €5 per night, same principle. This distinguishes the hotel from establishments on the outskirts of town: here, the parking is in the city center, next to the train station, eliminating the need for an additional trip in the morning. According to the Valenciennes Tourist Office, Lille is 40 minutes away via the A23 and Paris is 2 hours away via the A2.

Single room for one night, apartment for a longer stay.

For one or two nights, the single room is 12 m² with a 120 x 190 cm bed, a private bathroom with shower, a desk, storage space, and a television. For two people or a more comfortable stay, the double room is 16 to 22 m², with a 140 or 160 cm bed. A 25 m² accessible double room with a bathroom is available for guests with reduced mobility. For stays of several weeks, the 30 m² apartment, located directly opposite the hotel, includes a bedroom, a living room with a sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. It accommodates up to four people and provides access to all hotel services. In all cases, Wi-Fi is free, luggage storage is available before arrival or after departure, and a safe is available at reception.

Dining in and what you need to know

After a day of work, the Gourmet Space allows you to eat without leaving the hotel. The restaurant is open to everyone from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and until midnight for hotel guests: sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and homemade dishes are served in the bar area. The bar also offers drinks, cocktails, and smoothies. Breakfast is served from 7:00 am to 10:30 am, all-you-can-eat at your table, for €10 per person. For an evening out, the tourist office lists the restaurants in the city center, all within walking distance of the hotel.
